I don't know come here from sick'em about a reefer but agree with condo cruiser. If the alt puts out 13.6 on a bench it should on a unit. It takes a huge load for a alt to drop much voltage. So the other possibility is a bad or corroded connection causing a voltage drop. I would start by using a multimeter to check voltage drop at each connection start at batteries and follow the cables. Also check ground on alt. insufficient ground will show up as low voltage
problem with reefer unit need help

I have a 2010 Carrier X2 2500 reefer unit. Sometimes when parked and running hotel loads in my tractor, I'll run a jumper wire from the reefer to the positive jump start stud on the tractor to keep the tractor batteries up. When I do this, the reefer will not cycle in stop-start even though it will cycle between cool and heat to maintain temperature in the trailer. I think your unit is sensing a big draw on the alternator and it is programmed not to go to start stop when that condition exists.

My problum also same Battery new Alternater given 13.8v on display but on set point unit is not shutdown in auto mode

Reefer unit having trouble getting to -10. I set it to -10 continous and when it gets to 8. It starts kicking back up to as high as 29

I have Carrier x2 2500 and it won’t shut off when it reaches temp on start stop mode but it’s not lock I can switch from continuous to start stop but the start stop function itself isn’t working any help on this ?
-
Check the amp output,if it's to high the unit wont shut off ,you may need a battery if so.Also check coolant temperature,if the sensor is bad and giving too low of a reading the unit will not shut off at setpoint
-
So are you saying check
The coolant temperature sensor ? -
Yes. What is the coolant temperature reading when the unit is running?
-
We’ll my carrier 2500 did actually start back working properly as you before concerning the voltage I guess when the battery properly charged it was fine after but I carrier stealth unit with another trailer and I’m having this with auto not engaging I change battery and I set it to 33 degrees

If not shutting off at setpoint and it's set on start stop ,check coolant temp. And amp.out put.
