O okay I understand now...but I still would push the contract to be hourlyBigTennOTR Thanks this.

I'm good not being hourly. I had the option to last month for $54 a hour. Turned it down because I live 35 miles from the rail yards and they don't let people bring stuff home.

Us Xpress lease purchase is at .95 cpm currently including fuel surcharge. They wanted me to lease a tractor 2016 with no duct tape and missing all that Money inside. 800wk before fueling. Staying out until they say go home .. I'm supposed to be good with these terms. I just hung up....
48Packard, Annonymous and spyder7723 Thank this. -
To be fair is not just us xpress. All those big box companies that pay by the mile are the same. Even the "good" lp programs through companies such as Schneider are pretty darn bad.

Buying a truck is a give and take. But don't sign up for a lease perch chase.. And expect not to starve sometimes... Everybody will not complete a lease because the carriers won't have them goats out there. Majority of the time the team truck surpass the mileage rate and will be out off warranty early. Sell " that Truck" to a perch and get the revenue off it. Then if they fail take it to the auction or sell for top dollar thru leech perch chase...

US Xpress lease is literally set up to fail I'm not sure that they did it on purpose perhaps incompetence is there right word... I work for them currently and they're a terrific company so I don't think they would do something like that intentionally I think perhaps somebody incompetently Maybe the owner or somebody higher up created this lease and didn't really do the numbers properly. I'm a business graduate and I ran the numbers and you are literally in the hole every single week there is no room for profit at all whatsoever. They offer an $0.18 fuel surcharge and you pay for the rest of the gas you pay for all the tolls you pay for everything and you're only going to get about 2,500 miles at most, I'd say 2150-2500 avg. Now you're only going to be paid on average it's a sliding scale but on average you will get $0.91 per mile. You get no health insurance and again you have to pay for everything. I did the math I have Excel spreadsheets with nice breakdowns so that's that

That is pretty bad. I get $1.04 to $1.19 depending on length of haul. Currently 23 cents fuel surcharge. And all tolls are paid, and I am reimbursed annually for my base plates. Only required fee is $10 a week for the Qualcomm, with no deposit or installation fee. On top of the fuel surcharge, I am typically getting 40-50 cents a gallon off the cash pump price. And I typically average 2500-2800 miles a week and home every weekend and holiday. Never more than 600 miles from the house in any direction.
