Cheap Sleep Study

So, if you go to Dr. A (the one your company initially sent you to) and he/she recommends a sleep study.....why can't you just go to another Dr. (one that is on the national registry) that isn't likely to recommend a sleep study (granted you'll probably have to pay for the physical out-of-pocket) and get your 2 year card from him/her?

 

Once again all this sleep apnea in trucking is all BS. I got my new physical card with no issues. The reason truckers sleep gets screwed up is they are awake when they should be sleeping......and sleeping when they should be awake. That screws up sleep. I dont care how many machines they hook up on you.

I spoke to a neurologists and pulmonologists at KU Medical Center. They clearly indicated that scewing with the bodys circadian rthym is dangerous to drivers.

Drivers should have the ability to shut down when they are tired without retaliation from the companies.

I have gotten 2 , 2 year cards. Now this time they want a sleep study. My neck is a 1/2 inch less than last time. I'm 40lbs less than last time. wanna know why I have to this time? Because the company made me go to thier dr. Thier dr was not American. He was Middle Eastern or Indian. (not being racist but I can't tell where he's from by looking at him) ALL these foriegn Dr's HATE overweight people. Yes I'm fat! I have always been fat! I got 2 cards before from w different standard physicians who do DOT physicals! Not this guy who lectured me for an hour wants a sleep study. I have 0, NONE of the symptoms! But because he has a bias against fat people Now I gotta do it! BULL!

Not to mention I just had a complete 100% full body physical and exam 1 month ago. The Dr said other than my weight, I'm the healthiest 40yr old she seen. blood pressure, sugar, everything was perfect!!! But Mr Man wants a study done!

 

This is nothing more than a cash grab. Pure and simple.
