Depends on the TV and type, Are we talking about a traditional CRT television, or LCD, or LED? I ran a 27inch CRT on a 300w during a power outage I suspect for an LCD/LED it would run on about any available inverter on the market. even the little ones made for powering a laptop.

a 150 watt will do the trick, i am assuming you are using a LCD?

I havent bought a tv yet but looking at a 13-19" LCD. No dvd player happening just a regular..ha on the regular... tv.

yah a 150W is perfect then, hit walmart cheaper

Check the wattage on the TV before buying. There are inverters that plug into a cigarette lighter outlet that ar 400 watt. That should be sufficient, but it is always best to check. Some carriers don't allow inverters that cannot plug into a cigarette lighter outlet. They don't want to take a chance on an inverter being incorrectly hooked up and damage or burn up their truck.

Being frank, I run both my TV and my Xbox on two separate 100W inverters. They work just fine for me. My TV is an Emerson 19" LCD W/ DVD. Never had a problem out of inverters. My Xbox burns one out now and again, but seeing as they are cheap, and my company doesn't really like us going much higher than 200W, It works for me. Good luck!

Just a reminder: Plug a 400W inverter into a cigarette lighter, you have 150W to play with. That's the max that the socket can deliver.
OP: FYI, my 22" Samsung says 35W on it, so pretty much anything will power it.
