Trying to get my weekly home time. Unloading at a winco in hemet, ca. I hear there's going to be another round of Santa ana winds this week. Anyways heading to Otay mesa picking up an empty then going home to take out my mom to eat!

 

yeah I drove my first 10 speed recently when taking it to Lathrop to swap back out for my own truck, I was swearing at times too trying to get used to it. I didnt so much have trouble upshifting once I studied the pattern but boy did I have trouble downshifting forgetting the gear placements. Sitting in Modesto taking my 30, been a very nice cool day, woke up to 75 degree weather. Not looking forward to the later of the week since its supposed to hit the 100's so im sure I will be idling finally to sleep.

 

My first night shift driving this '15 Cascadia with the 10 speed...

.... I LIKE it!

Smoother ride than previous models and quieter. After a few hiccups trying to find 6th (really got to bring it far left) and trying to figure out downshifting point I find that it pulls hills better than the 8 speed and shifts smoother.

With this smoother ride seems to come a bit more rolling in heavy side winds. Running I-40 through Texas we were getting rocked pretty good. Right now entering Arizona from Gallup and it's getting dicey again. Got all strapped in tight in the bunk...

 

lone pine ca. taking a 30 minute break. nice tailwind so far. glad i'm not heading north lol. try to get to mira loma tonite. stop in hesperia for fuel, and see how much time i have left.

 

I get a kick reading about "8-speed" transmissions since THERE IS NO SUCH THING!

It's a 9-speed. I know that top gear is "8th gear", but it's still a 9-speed.

 

True that... I've always referred to 1st as "granny low". But you are correct, it is a 9 speed.

Rest area, Gainseville, GA. Was not going to attempt to find a parking space in a truck stop this time of night in FL on I-75. But then when I was going by a Peelot, it was about 1/2 full, and went by one rest area, not one truck and the one on the South side, only about 1/2. Everyone just has to have that truck stop. This is my 3rd Hype Focus/JIT load in a road. What is up with that.

 

This one I'm stuck with is a hyper focus load, too. They can't reschedule until tomorrow morning.
