Hey everyone, the reason I've not been posting is I'm not on the truck anymore thanks to an accident. We were headed back to the yard on I49 south around some little town called Butler Mo when out of nowhere a gust of wind that had to have been well over a hundred miles an hour hit us on the side and tipped us right over. We skidded along the road for I don't know how far. My dad broke both the bones in his left arm and had to have surgery to fix it. I wasn't hurt, it just scared the crap out of me. Anyone hear about this? Got any pictures?
We were in a crash

Last year about February my brother and I were in St. Louis to pick up a live load in the evening. Tornado sirens came on and we went into the warehouse to be safe. Hail storm, heavy rains, etc.
After we picked up the load we made it to Sullivan, MO on the I-44 for a fuel stop around midnight. I went in to use the bathroom and a guy was shaking like a leaf, talking about running SW on I-44 when a WALL of rain and heavy wind hit him head on. Brought him from 50 mph to a dead stop in a matter of seconds. No visibility. He survived and made it to the next exit at Sullivan. Lot's of road signs were knocked over. I think it was one of those "straight line" winds associated with tornado vortexes.
I have a HEALTHY respect for what the weather can do to a big rig.TriPac Dude and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Sounds like a microburst.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Yep, a wet microbust. Many are rain obscured by neighboring cells, but some are discreet

Thanks for the link with the pictures. That was us. I figured from my studies of weather that it was a microburst. I researched it some more and one thing said they can hit you at 150 mph. Scary stuff. I just hate that the way it was reported is that my dad deliberately drove the truck off the road not that the wind got it. They always make it sound like it's the trucks fault which just isn't right.
Skydivedavec and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Glad you're OK guys.
Can happen to anybody.
