Man sorry to see that.

Yep. We don't know the whole story, as so often happens, but following too closely? Something bad happened, that's perfectly clear at this time. (Who knows, might have been anything, from a blown tire to retaliation. Dropped the phone, spilled the coffee.) See it all the time. Every day, all day. (not so much in Montana or Wyoming where there's nobody else out there) I'm sorry for the families of the victim, especially the 29 year old pickup driver.

He better have a good lawyer smh.
SHO-TYME Thanks this. -
That ain't good - must have had some decent eye witnesses to jump to a 2nd degree murder charge that quick.
I assume the JD tractor was in the back of the trailer pulled by the white pickup ? -
Full story
WINDER - A Tennessee man has been charged in a Wednesday wreck on Highway 316 in Barrow County that killed a Winder man and shut down the busy roadway in both directions for nearly eight hours.
The Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as Cody Grayson Brantley, age 29.
The Patrol has charged Roger Bly, 40, from Tennessee with second-degree homicide by vehicle and following to closely according to a report on the CBS Atlanta website.
The three-vehicle wreck in the westbound lanes near Patrick Mill Road, and a second wreck occurring a short time later in the eastbound lanes, shut the highway down completely in both directions between Patrick Mill and Carl Bethlehem Roads, according to Barrow County Fire Department Lt. Scott Dakin.
According to the GSP, a mower was cutting grass along the westbound shoulder, straddling the right lane.
A Dodge 3500 driven by Shane Moore of Athens came to a stop because he was unable to pass the mower.
Brantley was behind Moore in his pickup truck and slowed as he approached the rear of Moore's Dodge.
The tractor-trailer struck the rear of the pickup causing its front end to strike the Dodge 3500.
The trailer of the tractor-trailer overturned.
Moore was injured and taken to Athens Regional Hospital.
Authorities finished cleaning up the diesel spill that occurred at the site around 11 p.m. -
the story does not make sense of the pictures the trailer that the dodge PU was towing is laying on its side the PU of the victim is flat like it was run over by a train and the tractor that was mowing looks like it took a pretty big hit, how the mower operator did not get hurt is amazing

I wonder if he was really following to close? When a vehicle comes to a dead stop on the highway, no matter how far back your from the one in front of you that hits their brakes because of the vehicle that is stopped, bad things are going to happen.
I wonder if they had signs up that Mowers were out mowing the ditches?Red Hot Mess Thanks this. -
If the Dodge 3500 had to come to a full stop, then that means another vehicle was blocking his ability to move over into the passing lane to clear the mower. IMHO whoever was blocking his ability to come on over should also be at fault in this accident. I always try to make room for another vehicle to get over if there is a vehicle on the side of the road, and certainly in a situation like this.
No matter what, you HAVE to be heads up regarding what is going on way ahead of you and help make room for EVERYBODY out there. -
Most truck drivers are narcissistic jerks who tailgate / bully / cut other drivers off. I've had jerks intentionally hit my trailer trying to force me over - and they called the police saying I was the one who came over in their lane and hit them (my dash cam showed they clearly intentionally hit me) DOT needs to crack down on aggressive truck drivers. Glad they are going to start running trucks with cameras to crack down on the idiots. Stupid little men who drive big trucks to make up for their lack of self esteem cause wrecks and are the ones responsible for the the tighter regulations that are about to come down the pipe. I have little respect for most truck drivers - 99.9% are narcissistic idiot bullies who should not be driving trucks.
