I think its a ways off, they still have bureaucratic red tape. Also insurance issues. Also what if one of the remote trailer's/truck brakes aren't adjusted right and they run into each other. They talked about it on the radio fairly recently and the over all conclusion is that it is a little ways off still.

Just in my opinion I think a turnpike double would be safer and they do exist and I'd rather see the infrastructure improved first.

    Short answer is yes.

    Just a matter of time.

It will be fascinating to observe all the nasty shippers & receivers get upset because they can't get free labor from Drivers.

Won't happen. just like the big talking heads at MSM keep saying. Rail road will replace drivers, Nope, just improves logistics and created more jobs for transporting trailers from the rails. work smarter not harder.

OT/8 Quoting a good friend/former co-worker.we loved waiting at rail yard. " waiting for the choo choo to arrive. easiest money I've ever earned at $38hr :biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518:"

*Facepalm*. I guess I'm the only one that actually watched the video instead of running with the grossly misleading title. All this system does is link the acceleration and braking of the rear truck to the front truck. The driver is still steering. It's the equivalent of advanced cruise control and it's only real purpose is to save fuel by allowing trucks to safely draft one another for increased mpgs.

I watched too much porn last night, and now I'm running short of data for this month. I can't watch anymore videos, until the 26th.
