Hey, some people like making their bosses truck payment for them, at the same time making less than a company driver at a bottom feeder outfit. What is really comical is when they stick their noses up on the air at us lowly company drivers, and brag about all the "freedom" they think they have...I may not get rich being a company driver, but in the end I am still making decent money, working for good people where I am at, and laughing all the way to the bank.
Do not do a lease purchase.....ever!!!

We are bashing lease purchase deals for a reason, but people keep signing up for them. When is it going to sink into their thick skulls that it's the worse of the worst deal out there. However, it's a free market and if we all came together as a solid unit and said NO to these deals, then guess what? Those arrogant big boys would have to change their tune real quick because the applications would dry up overnight. I mean why don't you get that picture.? Supply and demand. Being gullible and naive will put you out of business in a heartbeat. But unfortunately some people are bone headed and won't listen to wisdom or reason. They think they know it all, when they know nothing or very little about this business. The companies that make up these L/P deals must be laughing their heads off.
You all have a choice. You'd be far better off staying as a company driver until you can get some serious $$ together and buy your own truck. Then you've got a better chance to make it. But then you've got to figure out what's the best bang for the buck regarding revenue stream. There's lots to think about.
Good luck.loose_leafs Thanks this. -
2700 a week?? Man that's hard work for Owner Op.... must be the norm for L/P's.
But good luck my friend, the light will come on one day -
As if you examined every lp out there, so what makes you an internet expert?

Schneider lease is the only one who let's you pick & choose your own loads & have a variety of different rigs to choose from. CRST Malone allows you to do the same thing but I've went over how they do business wit the lease & that's a joke.
But hey man I'm no expert, I just got common sense. You wanna work for $1.30 a mile while renting a truck out from your employer that usually looks no different than the company trucks you're leasing from then go ahead. But i also believe truck drivers should be home every weekend, no way I will kill myself trying to make an $3000 truck payment, while the company has these weird escrow fees that you usually never get to see. -
That is true. I wouldn't have it any other way. I make enough money, have reasonable home time (over 110 full days off per year) and am not married to a truck/business. How much of your time off is spent doing something to that truck. No thanks!

I understand New Century Trans now has successful LP plan.

I find a truly amusing however. you best system you have probably never worked with and as soon as someone is even more you'll be successful you attack them. the more you attack someone who is actually good at their job and enjoys it the more of the fool you look like. have fun talking amongst yourselves and carrying on about how good you are I've decided it's no longer worth my time have a nice day.
