Moglar, why do you troll all the LP threads and say the same thing over and over again. LP suck, bla, bla, bla. YAWN! Your facts (as you claim) are not facts at all, but second and third hand BS. I've asked you before if you have every leased, I don't remember a reply. I also asked you what makes you the internet authority on LP, don't remember a reply to that either? So what say you?

It appears to me that the OP is a company driver who is intending to buy a truck, and already knows everything that can be known about the business of trucking. Especially the part where if anything goes wrong financially it is always entirely the fault of a pernicious carrier taking advantage of an innocent, upstanding driver.

He speaks a lot of truth and may save someone some future misery. Just remember, for every happy L/P there are many times more who have been screwed. Schneider, for example: Why would a L/P drivers weekly pay settlement be wiped out if he chooses too fill his tanks on Monday morning? Save your planning reply. Pumpkin don't have to pay their fuel bill once a week.

If you are breaking your back running your own truck and thats all you profit in a year then you are out of your mind!

Exactly 6 speed! I am not trolling. I am merely providing solid advice based on the evidence. However, far as I can see it is nothing more than a bait and switch scam. I still want someone to prove me wrong. Perhaps there is a fleece purchase out there is actually worth a look.

Now as for the Schneider financing and lease purchase. You can buy a truck from Schneider and have it financed the same way you would with any other lender. Truck is yours...take it where you want...just make the payments. Since Schneider has literally thousands of trucks it makes business sense to sell some of the trucks and keep the interest the same as a bank would.

They have a lease purchase. HOWEVER....you must only (and I repeat only) pull their freight for them period. YOU CANNOT TAKE THE TRUCK WITH YOU TO ANOTHER CARRIER. Why.....BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS NOT YOURS! The same conditions regarding maintenance accounts, road use tax, escrow and all the other goodies that go with the fleece purchase will apply.

I spoke with a representative from Schneider to get all the facts. The part that knocked me off the phone was that they pay the fleece purchase drivers that get the loads off their load board for 67% of the gross!! They were dead serious about the %67. All I have to say is HELL NO!! Forced dispatch pays a little more.

If you take your own truck to Landstar and pull their trailer, they'll keep 35% of the gross. So what's your beef about this? Do you expect a carrier to provide their
    equipment and services
without an expectation of profit? This is business, not welfare for whining company drivers.

    hi beam Thanks this.
