Great another thing for me to worry about finding a snake on my trailer.I was mowing the yard last spring we have a really big yard it takes a few hours to mow with a riding mower and I was driving the mower in the garage when I saw the floor move. There was the largest snake I have ever seen outside of captivity. So I got my neighbor to ask him if he knew how to kill these things he snook up on it with a hoe and cut his head off and it didn't go smoothly that snake fought hard but eventually the hoe won. The next day I went and bought me a hoe and sharpened that bad boy up.Their was much debate to what kind of snake it was it was at least six feet long and he was not on weight watchers. If the floor moves get help.

In Indiana, there is a snake that is called "blue racer" or something like that. It isn't venomous, but it is aggressive. Anyway, my SIL was in her garden one day, and this snake chased her out! REALLY, it did! She says it raised up somewhat like a cobra, and came at her....she started running, and it chased her until she was well out of the garden.:biggrin_2551:

And if she had stomped and ran toward the blue racer IT would have gone the other way.......

ROFL, my sister still tells stories about being chased out of the garden by one of these on the farm. :biggrin_2559: I guess it's pretty traumatic, when it happens to you.

Kewl! I'll tell her to keep that in mind. But...I don't think when she is confronted again, she won't have the presence of mind to remember...she is like me ....afraid of snakes!! :biggrin_25512:

Hey daytona, when you toss your straps over your next hay load and have to climb on top of it you will start wondering if there is something up there with you......:biggrin_25523: I used to have a local driving gig. When I got there in the am I had to go in and plug in the light in the batch house. I plugged in the light and turned around and realized I had stepped over a 6 foot snake in the dark. There was a shovel there and I killed it. I had no idea what it was. I just knew that it was between me and the door. My boss said it was a chicken snake and would not have hurt anyone. I said oh yeah... well I got high blood pressure and had I stepped on this thing in the dark I probably would have stroked out when it moved.....:biggrin_25523:

I went outside a feewends ago and found a rattler rolled up under my truck. After a nice whack to the skull we stretched him out and he was as long as the shovel. These are timber rattlers. the dumb ### state releases them in the woods because they are endangered and everyone promptly kills every one they see.
Last weekend I was home and we were sitting out by the pond and I saw two water mocasins swiming in the pond and I didn't have any snake shot left so they are still around somewhere.
but those are nothing compared to the copperheads. Them babies are the ones to watch out for. they arn't real big but they don't ned to be and they unlike the rest will chase your butt.

We got some hay one time and when we got it home my wife cut pn a bale to feed and out poped a chicken snake. now this hay we put in my suburban and drove home with. if that thing would have come out in the truck I would have probably killed us all. Nowadays that's all the uburban is used for, getting and storing hay and I'm afraid to go near it now
