    Hi All,

New to this forum and to be honest I signed up because I need some help. I own a small new and used machinery company based in Michigan and we sell metal working equipment. I got my start from my Father In-Law 25 years ago and am grateful for the opportunity to learn the business. He and I parted ways, unfortunately, about 17 years ago, but no hard feelings. While I worked for him we had a couple Pete 379's and the last one we bought new was in 1990 from Refer Peterbilt in Auburn Hills, MI. This was the last truck I drove, as we sold it in or around 1994-95 to Detroit Riggers in Metamora, MI. They didn't hold on to the truck long because they really liked the Volvo rigs and the wheel base on the Pete (260") was really longer than they liked. As I recall, they sold the truck to a steel hauler out of Lansing, MI that also hauled sod with it in the summer. Over the years I would see it from time to time on I-69, always going the opposite way I was. The last time I saw it was April Steel in Dearborn, MI about 3 or 4 years ago.

So what's the big deal about this truck and why am I rambling on about it? Well you see, my Father In-Law has since retired and my business has grown to a point where I can justify buying a truck to ship my equipment. Out of respect and honor for the man that started me on this journey 25 years ago, I would like to see if I can find the last Pete he bought new and refurb it and make it my first truck. I know this is an incredible long shot that anyone would know anything about it or where it is, but it means a lot to me and my wife. I don't have the Vin otherwise I'd just run a search and see what I can turn up. The only I have is a picture I took of it in front of our warehouse in Sterling Heights, MI back in 90 or 91.

If anyone knows this truck or can put me in touch with the folks that own it I sure would appreciate it!

    Here's the picture.

Thanks for reading this and any help you might have.
    Tim
