Hubby and I turned in the keys to our Volvo today at the W/S home terminal. We made sure to clean her up real good for the next driver.

Just a few miles up the road, we noticed Tunnel Hill Rd, remembered that is where orientation will be next week. So we took the exit and pulled up the directions to the terminal on the iphone. We turned right, went about 1/4 mile and right behind this church, suddenly there's this big terminal! WoW! There were red trucks sitting everywhere. I bet there were at least 100 trucks!

And everything looked clean, neat,no big mud holes or garbage laying around! What a big difference from where we just came from!

I told hubby, who's very concerned about getting an automatic truck next week, (doesn't want a manual)...I said "Out of ALL of these trucks sitting here, surely there's an automatic here with your name on it!" hehe

Our other terminal at our other job was a dirt parking lot with HUGE mudholes you could literally lose your truck in. It was miserable during rain/snow...tracking mud all in the truck. Or its a big dustbowl during dry weather. We would return to the terminal after being on the road for a few weeks and our car would be covered in about 3 inches of red dirt. UGH

Just sayin' that we're already seeing a BIG improvement in making the move over to USxpress. Very nice. Very nice. :yes2557:

Tunnel Hill is the companies main terminal. While the size of the others may vary, their all pretty well kept up.

Whats great about US Xpress is that their so big they have terminals & drop yards all across the country and if they don't.....one of their customers may allow you to leave your truck on their property.

    I think you'll like USX.

Yes, today is the best day I've had in a long while!!!

When Lucille, our recruiter, called and said "I've got GOOD news for you!" I couldn't believe it. I've been depressed for a couple of months due to making .31 cpm along with not so good miles...watching the bank account go down instead of up is quite disturbing.

I began wondering, "Why am I gone from home all the time, to make such small paychecks??? ....it's time for a change."

Hubby was at his last job at the hospital 23 years.... it was difficult to convince him to leave after working only 4 months at this job. But he finally decided that enough is enough...gotta make a move.

thanks again Truckerduo for making this happen! Your an angel! :angel4:

Change is never easy. I think once you've been here for a few weeks...you'll have no regret.

US Xpress has been good to us. The pay for teams is on the higher end of the mega companies. They give you a practically brand new truck. I think the DriverTech is probably the best in the industry and they have enough freight to keep you busy. This is a great company to get your start at.

Do the stereos in Usxpress's truck have capabilities for satellite radio? We had satellite radio in our last truck and I dearly loved it.

Truck idles below 28 and above 70

All trucks have bunk heaters. Work really well. Woke up during the winter having to turn it down because it got too hot.

    Hey TD,

I've been reading through USxpress threads and seems that some people complain about their paychecks coming up short.

Have you had much trouble with this?

If someone's paycheck came up short they probably did something wrong.
