Driving OTR with US Xpress

hey whats up wedge i was wondering does usx have a training school to get your cdl's im new and im wanting to get into trucking. also what tips would you give a guy whos never even been in a tractor trailer before? Iv got no kids or wife and i think i would love trucking.

 

no usx doesn't have a cdl school.........

next question..... how will your wife feel about you being gone for 3-4 weeks at a time

as far as cdl school goes look at the trade schools or CC first..... a lot less money for better training

my school was $1,000 (8hr a day 5 days a week for 3 months) the cdl mill wanted $5.500 for a 3 days class

 

wife and I attended a 2.5 month college cdl class and we are very glad we did! I can't imagine going to a cdl class for three days??? wow

 

most cdl mills are under 7 days, some 5 days, some 3, even saw one that
was ONE DAY..... SMH

 

I'm a believer in the college cdl courses! It did not cost us much ( $700 ea) and we got several weeks to practice our backing and driving skills.....which I needed! Lol

 

Hi everybody, any of yall driving for usexpress on new caney,TX account? im about to star there, just wander what to expect on money ways and work ways

 

Been driving on this account for a couple months now the account is still in transition so CRL/Greatwide is still pulling out of here until july 7th then all USX and walmart private, pay is not what they're telling people, expect to bring home 500-700/wk if you work 5 days, also be prepared to run off your 70 and work 7 days right now with 1 or 2 nights out a week. The people over there are good but the equipment is horrible still no day cabs and it seems we have more trucks sent to the dealer than on the yard. Dispatch is a good group of people and will have an onsite shop
