Ah, so it's our fault we have these stupid rules, then! And here I thought it was the substandard training of the "drivers" coming out of the CDL mills.
See, you make it sound like the "cheating" going on are thinks like trying to show 1400 miles legally in a single day, when the "cheating" is typically working around the stupid crap that has been imposed on us that has zero to do with making the roads safer and everything to do with generating revenue for everyone but us, but, by all means, rely on your whole 8 months of expertise to tell us how stupid we are.

It's not even the big "whole sale" cheating, that everybody thinks of. I like paper for the things that I can do and get away with, the small things. I made it to a shipper/receiver with plenty of time, they screwed around, ate my time up and are now kicking me off their property. Truck stop is 10 minutes away. My paper logs won't show that.
Going home.... I'm a half hour away, am I going to stop for a 10. Oh heck no.
This stupid 30 minute break. I like to pull over, every 3 hrs or so, for coffee, bathroom, and a stretch. Do I log that now that the knuckleheads have decreed a 30 minute break? Oh heck no!!!! I take my 2 breaks, and then pull over and pencil whip a 30. Small things!!!!Night_driver, woody71, Y2K and 2 others Thank this. -
Guys stop getting things twisted paper and E-logs are the same....E-logs are not EOBRs are ELDs or what ever the government is calling them this week. I will never have a tracking device that the government can keep track of me again E-logs are the same as paper stop getting them mixed up
skibum_63 Thanks this. -
you still have to fill out the blah blah blah on machine. otherwise, you get form and manner violations. and if you don't beleive, just look at the scores of companies on the box.
i like being able to drive my truck. without some POS telling me to log in and taking up my hours. or having to answer to PC.
i have the freedom to drive my as truck. AS I PLEASE.Joetro Thanks this. -
No cell phone huh? They can track your pings and determine roughly how far and long you've driven if they want to. Thankfully SCOTUS just shot that down so they need a warrant now.
-
True, BAYOU, but I think, in this context, EOBRs are considered the e-logs. I use DDL, myself, which are, in a sense, e-logs without the babysitter function.
-
we havce these stupid rules now. becuase you can't stop killing people. and look what happened. you've made it worse.
if WE are the ones cheating. how come we have no log book violations. -
That just shows me how on educated you are about the E-logs you do not have to feel any information it is already stored from your previous day all the information just gets rolled to the next day dates Tom's truck numbers trailer numbers etc. again all I have to do is push duty all the blanks are already filled out including my odometer from the previous day!!!
-
and you think we have to do that on paper. cuz it works the same way.
i'm very well educated. ran the box for 4 months. input every day. otehrwise the fields were blank.
now, if you want to say i'm UN educated on paper. that would be a better statement. as my logs are on laptop. -
What are you talking about????
