I've used both and I prefer Elogs. Yes it can be a pain sometimes but the positive far outweigh the negatives, for me at least.

This #### argument again. Paper will always be superior to elogs if you know what you're doing. I've had log violations, but I've NEVER been shut down. Most I've ever been written up for is a general form and manner, 1 for flagging, and 1 for no bol #. Other than that no problems or issues. If you can't make more money on a paper log than you can on elogs there's something wrong as far as I'm concerned.

i like the argument that they make more on elogs then paper.

i see it as, if that's the case. they weren't making much to begin with. cuz i did that box thing. and it was a BIG pay cut.

Why is paper superior, well when your ELD takes a crap, and you have to dig out the paper, if your company even allows it, or you have to wait for repairs or a properly equipped substitute, then you might figure it out. I don't use e-logs so it hasn't happened to me.I don't get any more scrutiny than an e-log user, either. I'm used to doing it, so it's not a big deal, but I sure have heard some griping from friends that have gone to where they use e-logs, one of them even came back. The other ones just continue to gripe.

Some Thermo-king shops do E-log repairs, and the e-logs wait when a loaded reefer comes in that has to be fixed now.,

I have DDL on a couple laptops so that, if my main computer crashes, I can take my backups, put them on the other PC and continue to march. Aside from that, I also have paper logs in the truck to go to, if needed.

You didn't make one valid point in your post.
I've had my Elogs crap out. I used the big road app on my phone and kept going. I had my previous logs emailed to me so I had them if dot wanted to see them.
So all this "paper is superior" is irrelevant.
My Qualcomm got fixed when I got back to the shop. Put a new brain in it. Took half hour and I was rolling again.

Riddle me this why has there been 18% more truck fatalities since 2009 if elogs are so great and promote safety?Theres nothing good about elogs unless your lazy or cant do simple math.It also promotes driving like an idiot to get done what you need to do before your 14 is up.
