Because people are idiots. I don't drive any different then I did when I ran paper. In fact I run more efficient because I have to actually plan my day now. Not just jot down notes and at the end of the day make it all look good on paper.
It's the drivers driving like idiots. The Elogs doesn't make me do a #### thing. It just records what I do as I do it.
I'm actually a lot safer now because I get my full 10 off. No more dispatch telling me to not start my logs and do this and that and eat up half my "break" then be expected to run a full day.
Where did you get your numbers? I'd like to read the source.

the source has been on the radio for a few weeks now. and i'm pretty sure the landline and overdrive websights.

as for planning your day. i'm still trying to figure that one out. i know it's taught in school. but REALLY.

the only plan i make. i fire up the truck and drive till i feel like parking. really not a difficult plan.

i don't have to worry about weather, traffic, construction, accidents, cops pulling me over. ANYTHING that will mess up YOUR plan.

Yep really. I plan my day. I plan when I'll start, when I'm gonna get to my first stop, estimate how long that should take, my second stop if I have one, when I'll do my 30, when I'll be stopping and roughly where at, when I need to fuel, eta to shipper/receiver. I plan all that and adjust on the fly as needed.

Personally, sounds like a bunch of whiney ##### that don't want to change with the times. Yeah it sucks to have to change from what you like and have gotten comfortable with to something different, and then feel like you have a baby sitter. But ya know, get over it, you ain't gotta do it yet, so don't #####. When the day comes that elogs are mandatory and it will come, you'll either do, or gtfo and retire.

Dont mind change when its for the good but these HOS and new regs are far from for the good.

What we have here is a bunch of kids that need babysitters and a computer to do simple math.
