You are absolutely right... with Werner, the money and miles are not in Solo OTR... for OTR miles, teams and trainers are favored over the solo driver.... but, on the dedicated accounts there are plenty of loads and miles and the pay is better... higher CPM as well as more account specific accessorie pay...

I got on a dedicated right off my trainers truck... I went on the intermodal account at .34cpm + accessorie pay and home every weekend... I just switched to a dedicated flatbed account.. .36CPM + accessorie pay and home every night... I generally run from 2am to 2pm...

I also think the dedicated dispatcber are better... I really like this gig and my fleet manger is awesome..

However, like with all fleet managers... if you run hard and do a good job thi gs are good for you... if you screw up or make to many stops then youvet the short mile runs...

Solo OTR with werner sucks... .21cpm to .29 cpm.. the accessorie pay is cheap.. and the dispatchers not so great...

I have just as much experience as you OP. I'm even on my third company with 9 months experience. Don't settle for crap pay. Cretes pay scale isn't the same for staying out only one or 2 weeks, but it's better than the majority of OTR companies. If you can man up to stay out 3 weeks, they'll pay 42 CPM right off the bat.

Here's my pay stub. Next ones actually gonna be a little bigger.

I don't understand people that defend companies like Swift and Werner. I'm sure they're a decent home for some. I call them chumps. I know they have dedicated accounts that may pay a bit better than their average OTR rate, but I don't think many of them make what a student driver makes at Crete, lol.

Message me if you wanna hear more, I don't want to be called a recruiter, lol.

I should add to this thread that Werner was a great starter company and there are opportunities within the company where you can make money. I truly believe that Werner is a STARTER COMPANY and that's their bread and butter. Trainers make a lot of money. Werner put me on a dedicated Walmart fleet out of Wisconsin and the pay was decent. I don't regret starting with Werner, there are many positives. They maintain their trucks, they have a lot of terminals, and they really gave me very little hassle.

They still pay the trainer a rate thats for chumps, but they let them use a trainee as a log book and run team with them and get all the miles paid to the trainer. I can't see defending the company by saying that you can profit by abusing trainees eventually, lol.

So does Werner. Part of your rate is payed as safety pay each week, in my case it is a third.

Being a trainer is the easiest way to make money at Werner besides going team. However if I'm gonna live in a space the size of a walk-in closet I want it all to myself. Also, I lack the patience to have some ####y hotshot new kid grind the crap outta the truck and risk my life on the road. Let that Donner Pass rig flip over video on YouTube be a reminder..

Apparently you missed the end of his paycheck where it says he is making 31.6 cpm... and that his average with bonuses is 34.6 cpm.

Like I said, we dont have any accounts that pay under 26. What you arent seeing, are the safety bonuses you get every week. He is has made over 34cpm for the last 3 months, as it says next to his "90 day average".

So everybody go ahead and try and tell me that he is making only 22cpm when his own #### paycheck says otherwise. Unless someone else wants to come up with ANOTHER conspiracy theory about Werner.

He is making 34 cpm for driven miles. End of story.

Yes, but most people dont know that over half of Werner drivers have over a year of experience, and over a quarter have over two years. Werner is anything but a starter company.

The OP forgot to mention that he has THREE PAGES of account he can sign up for on the Driver portal. Yup, he even could sign up for a coast to coast reefer or Conway account, or a coast to coast flatbed account... or tropicana... or Harley Davidson... Any Werner driver can go to the portal and see all the accounts they can be on. Just enter the zip code.

This is what drives me insane as a trainer, to see these new guys come in with a serious attitude problem, start blaming Werner, refuse to accept any of the 200 something accounts we have, then go talk crap about us. I just dont understand how people can be so incredibly dense. Then of course, they try and lie about it. Drive me nuts.
