Hi spyder, I guess I should have said it wasn't just the montana load being short, I keep a log of every load and can give you details if you want. But now that I have calmed down I am going to do just what you said about keeping a list. If the miles are short I just won't take the load. I did call the agent and politely ask about it, he said 5hats the miles that the shipper give him I said ok. I know thers not much mercer can do about it .
I'll just have to adapt. Rob out.

Deadhead miles is a definitely a problem with Mercer and most of the industry.
The part that annoys me, would be the acknoledgement from corporate and nothing being done, except to ask before taking the load and they will get you a more accurate mileage.
Not to mention how many times I've heard, " Does it really matter, if your not getting paid for deadheading". As if it doesn't cost any for that fuel and wear and tear.
Guess I needed to rant a little also.Bigdubber Thanks this. -
no offense taken at all. I have just been here long enough to know which customers tend to do that. it does get frustrating and always has been, no matter who I may have been leased to or even when I had my own authority.
the thing an outsider should take from this thread is that even if we do have a gripe , we wouldn't go anywhere else. its sort of like a family thing, we may gripe among ourselves, but if someone else does we are ready to defend them.Battle Born and Bigdubber Thank this. -
it must be some kind of deal with the software, cause as spyder said if ya ask the coordinator the dh miles, what they pull up is fairly close.
I agree with ya, while I wont let it be a deal breaker, it would be nice to get a closer dh mile on the board without having to run it on streets and trips.
outsiders should also understand this thread for many of us is like griping about our mom cooking the same thing to often, we might complain a bit but we aren't gonna trade her for a new mom. heck I am 57, talk to my mom everyday and the woman tells me everyday to make sure I stop in a safe place and eat a good supper. it like I am still 12, lol. but I do the same thing to my kids, like the one who skydives, I tell him every #### time to be careful, I mean hes jumping from a dang airplane , careful is kind of thrown out the window.Bigdubber and Flightline Thank this. -
flightline, that .3 mpg from removing the stacks still holding steady?? I am delivering in Louisville Monday and gonna do my inspection early if anyone is gonna be there. I scored a load from florida to Louisville, the stars aligned.

Hey all... Please forgive me for jumping in here but I wanted to share my good news with y'all... 😀
I received an "all systems clear" from the Mercer Office and also from Lone Mountain Truck Leasing!
I'll be getting my truck on 31st of this month (need to do my two weeks at my present company) and then start Orientation on Monday the 4th... I am so pumped!
Hopefully they will have a fresh jug of Mercer Kool-aid ready for me! 😂😃😄
Ok... I need to sleep now been "driving" for the past 10.5hrs... Really tired (but PUMPED!)
P. S. If any of y'all are in Louisville the first week of Aug be sure to introduce yourself. I'd be honored to meet you in person.
Be safe, be happy and be blessed. ~CJ is out 😎 -
Yes the good fuel economy is holding true, except this last OD load 10'wide x 14.6' high cut me down to 6mpg.
Otherwise I've been averaging over 7.5

Hey bigdubb I'm in the same boat. Scheduled to be in orientation on the 4th and picking up a truck from 6PM at the end of the month. See you there

Got here at the yard Tuesday afternoon, spent the next two days going over my truck with a fine tooth comb. Replaced air bags that were starting to crack from dry rot. Put new drums and brakes on the drives. Had plenty of meat left but corrosion was pushing the liner from the steel plate. New drums cause why not, well over a million miles so they earned their retirement. Got a new windshield put in due to a rock I picked up a couple weeks ago. Got new door signs and letters made up for my truck and trailer. Took a half a day to get the old cheap signs off. My fault for being a cheap ### when I signed on. Oh and I finally tore my dash apart to replace the abs light. So this morning I'm feeling good, my truck looks as good as an old Freightliner can. I'm gonna breeze through this inspection right? Wrong. In the four hundred yards to the new building I blew two lights and my abs light came on. Son of a gun. Oh and they saw something I missed. Grease squeezing out of the front axle brakes. #### truck stop mechanics don't have a freaking clue. Shoo courtesy of t/a idiots I get to spend the day cleaning my brakes up. That's what I get for being lazy and not changing the oil and greasing it myself.
Bigdubber Thanks this.
