You shouldn't have to. as long as you don't owe money to anyone, you should be good to go.

 

I have found that in general, major trucking companys are the same,just with different names.I am a POP trainer,soon to be a instructor,I tell all my students to drive like they own the truck.Dont worry about the politics.Just get the miles and the rest should fall in place!!

 

You are right. but some companies like crete, yellow, roadway, and a few other have a higher standard than most companies. these companies actually care about thier drivers. This is why thier turnover rate is not as high as a snider, or swift, or usa truck ect. ect.

One thing people seem to forget about the pay. Most, including myself, tend to take their cash advance each week. When the paycheck comes in and they're only making $100 on thier slow weeks (truck problems, shipper/consigee delays, hometime, etc), the look at it as only making $100/wk. Figure it up: $100 Check + $160 Cash Advance + 45 loan repayment + 25 escrow = $330 Net Pay. In order to make that same thing in the private sector, you'd need a job making over $10/Hour.
