I'm going in Monday to upgrade, my trainer sent me a text saying he don't think ready to go out alone. But I think I am. What questions should I ask myself to determine if I'm truly ready
ready to upgrade?

Can you lick your nose with one finger> Sorry to be so rough,,if you are not sure at this point train some more

Go for the upgrade. Truck driving is not rocket science; even I can do it. The only question to ask yourself is, "Do I still need a baby sitter at my age?"

Well, you should be learning something new everyday, even after 30 years. You'll always be learning. Anyway, can you handle the truck? Can you shift? Are you okay with talking to shippers receivers? (Aka knowing what to do and how to do it) can you log correctly? Can you do a pre trip and spot deficiencies? It really isn't rocket science, but I'd rather be well versed than get in my own truck and fail horribly.
blairandgretchen and CYCO Thank this. -

Take the upgrade tests. Let the company decide if they want you driving their trucks. You are good enough for the CDL school, good enough for the state that gave you a license...you only have one more hurdle...don't get wishy washy now.
snatale42 Thanks this. -
I'm comfortable with all those things mentioned above. I made a couple turns to early listening to the gps. I know I'm going to learn everything in two months of training a lot of things I will have to learn on my own especially doing flatbed. Other than the 3 day boot camp is there any other flatbed training?

Throw that GPS out the window.
Let the company test you and find out. -
Just think about your family and ask yourself if you are ok with someone of your skill/knowledge/training behind the wheel on the same road as them? If the answer is yes then your good to go, if no get more training.
