Believe it or not we're looking to go back OTR, a year home and we're done. I have a clean record, but when we left Holland I couldn't return the truck because I couldn't afford to get home and my wife was having health issues and I didn't want to leave her alone. So I know I will probably have an issue.

 

have you talked to them since? And what did they say?

 

No, haven't called them. We're actually looking for a company that has a yard near home, because parking is a major issue here. It's actually good, because they know we wont abandon the truck because we live here, so that's in our favor.

 

I'm wondering if this was that same poster on "ripoff report" that had the beef against denzil?, this thread is really the only negative stuff I could find about the company, and so far the negative posts seemed a bit lacking in information about what went wrong, or just personal attacks against 1 or 2 people in management. in fact I got a message from a guy named denzil at a company called "Great Plains Transport" which appears to be a sister company to Holland which shed more detail on pay rates, etc, so I guess he has moved over there? from what I have read, both companies seem pretty good, although not much info on what GPT is like compared to Holland. They seem to have similar equipment, freight, bennies, and personnel. (maybe a more laid back version of Holland?)

 

Great plains is indeed a sister company. I don't know a lot about them personally. We do share trailers occasionally. No clue if they are more laid back than Holland, though not sure how you could get more laid back.

The 1600 mile ld I'm unloading right now was tight because of weather. I got here and checked in with 10 minutes to spare. Never got a phone call or QC msg asking for an eta or anything. Pretty laid back if you ask me. .

 

Denzil worked for Holland.

I have been here at Holland just under a year. I've worked for a few mega's and a small 25-30 truck company. Aside from Bruenger, Holland has been the best I've worked for. Always treated right. Dispatch is cool with my smart arse attitude. Heck there is a couple of them who come right back at me. Lol.

Ruth has been very helpful to me in my time here. I never had any problems with Denzil. Your job is what YOU make of it. Don't want to run? Don't come here. As far as short loads, take them. It's taking the trash out that gets you to the treasure. I'll only leave here for a local day cab job.

 

Looks good so far.... Planning to send applications to both as soon as I can get my laptop going again...(I could try it on this smart phone but it would take forever lol)...the main reason I mentioned Denzil is because a couple of banned posters had some sort of a personal beef with the guy,personally I think these two outfits sound like they have good people running them.
