And funny - this thread - just a one off , ask if anybody has the nitty gritty on the pay raise . . . .

Limited response, yet . . . post how crap the industry wages are bin general ?

    15 page whine and moan session . . .

Where does that leave us folks . . . ?

Point six eight three three cents per mile to the truck?
    That's 34.165 cmp per driver.

The raise is indeed 2 cpm for solo drivers, and 2.2 cpm for team drivers. I think that puts the top rate at 61 cpm for solos. Hourly personnel (including city drivers) get a 85-cent per hour raise.

Well if he/they did 7200 miles last week at 34 cent per mile you cant beat that... .34 x 7200= $2448

find me one junk OTR company that can give there teams 7200 miles a week? Ive never heard of any... Have you?

I'm surprised OD doesn't have a waiting list, or with that pay maybe they do?

Depends on the terminal. Indianapolis has no waiting list I know of, although corporate does tend to drag a little on applications. I see you're in Chicago, they also are growing like crazy.

I just got got my CDL last week and OD is taking me here in Indianapolis. I was told line haul is 49 cents a mile, home every night and off weekends. And even though I just got my CDL, I am getting 49 cents a mile!!

Pick up and Delivery starts a little over $22.00 an hour with 55 hours a week. Also home every night and off weekends. I had to have him repeat the numbers to me a few times so I could believe it!

The only negative from what I understand is with the $22.00 and hour at 55 hours a week is all straight time... OT is paid after 60 hours... Besides that I have heard nothing but good things about OD

Yes, I agree.. As a truck driver I look at it as I could be over the road driving for 11 hours and sleeping in my cab, or driving in the city for the same amount of time but home every night. When I think of it that way, it doesn't look bad at all LOL

10-4 on that... I think it's better anyways cause your not sitting behind the wheel looking through the window for a straight 11... You probably wont be driving a ton of miles and you certainly wont be sitting all day not to mention you get interaction with people throughout the day...All pluses in my book

I'm an OD linehaul driver. Our top rate with the raise is now .5943 cpm and you reach top rate in 2yrs. We're paid $1.50 for each piece of equipment we touch so for instance breaking and hooking a set pays $12.00. Yes you're usually home every night/day but depending on the schedule you're on the weekend could be a Tues/Wed or Mon/Tues it just depends on where you're assigned when you start. The Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon off days are gone by the time a newbie gets a chance to bid. It's an awesome place to work and I love it here.
