Guess the moral, the 'take away' here is that when you quit a company (even if it's McDonald's) you need to either make arrangements with them or make your own arrangements how you're getting home. Hope your Mom's happy to have you close now when she needs it.

    Good luck.

They all are. I think Western Express has given up any other sort of advertising..... " make $70,000 a year!!" Lol...

Let me restate that: It does not mean all big companies are bad, nor does it mean all small companies are good. But in my mind any company who needs a recruiter to sweet talk me into working there has one strike againt it already. And even in the wake of CSA 2010 there are still a lot of snall, fly by night scum outfits who continue to slip through the cracks.

When you look at a company like walmart that has a backed up waiting list of ticket free, accident free drivers beating on the door screaming for a job that should tell you something. Those drivers get truly compensated for all their work, and the company wont touch unprofessional steering wheel holders.

When you look at Western Express, England, Heartland, CRST, Knight, etc unprofessional steering wheel holders is all they want. If you can think for yourself and dont need a babysitter, you will not be happy at places like these.

Western Express failed to mention the part about never going home.

Thing is I will be on track to make that or close to it this year, on top of taking a week off every 4 weeks. But I do run my tail off the 4 weeks straight that I am out here.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that. We're both aware his record speaks for itself and is a powerful bargaining chip (except at Heartland). What has been the obstacle preventing him for working for some the better paying carriers is our location, which will we not leave, due to my job and benefits, family, and a home in which we have invested a lot.

Then, my spouse had all his personal requirements such as respect, maintenance, miles, home time, and pay. He's in talks right now with a small, stable carrier looking to slowly expand. Low driver turnover is a good sign so far, but as anyone who has been in the industry a long time knows all companies put their best foot forward and some of them can cloak a lot of nasty reality on the other.

    BTDT and no thanks.

Frankly, I'd rather pay for my own...then the company can't demand other than a copy and I can take it elsewhere...

why do so many driver want the companies to pay for everything?...I've never seen so many dependent people in all my life...and yes there's things the company should pay for, I'm not saying they shouldn't but drivers when it comes to something with your name and info on it, why not pay for yourself??
