Yes, Why do you say that? They are in the yellow with HOS violations with the FMCSA. That why?

My bf just moved from company to L/O with Boyd. Pay there starting out is .38 cpm and $29 additional on tarp loads (most loads are). That goes up at 6mths. They also have fuel bonus' if your MPGs are above a certain amount. They recently started if MPGs are good, loads on time, and no company violations (speed or log), the governor is increased and bonus on cpm up to .04 I believe. Tuition reimbursement is $150 a mth and some areas offer a sign on bonus as well. They do have cameras for both inside and outside the truck but I know they gave my bf the option of removing it at 6 mths. The only other thing some people complain about is they do have you pay a $400 deposit on your equipment at $25 a wk if I remember right. I know my bf's last company check included a refund of that deposit. Training lasts a total of 7 wks and that includes 1 wk orientation and 1 wk securement training at $500 a wk. if your trainer lives close to you you'll be home every weekend and if not it's every other week with you in a hotel (Best Western or similar) while your trainer is home. I can't say 100% your area would be home weekly but should be biweekly at most. My bf only stayed out if he chose to all but 2 weekends. Any other questions or anything I missed let me know. If I don't know I'll ask my bf. I will say we've been very happy with Boyd and he doesn't regret his choice of them for his first company. If for some reason this (leasing) doesn't work out for us, he will go back company for them.

What kind of average mileage does your boyfriend get? I know if varies a lot but just trying to get an ideal so I can crunch some numbers. Any ideal what the rider program is? I was told most trucks have APU's is that correct? Sorry for so many questions trying to get all the information I can to help me decide if I will make a career change. Thanks

His miles vary from 2-3000 a wk it just depends on how hard he really wants to run. Their rider program is ages 10 & up (our 10 yr old spent Spring Break on the truck). The majority of their trucks are 2013-15 (still have some 2012s) International Prostars with APUs. They also offer satilite tv in the trucks if you want it for a small wkly charge.

Hos is ...hours of service meaning how many hours he is allowed to work per day.... fmcsa stands for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association which basically covering all the rules and regulations truck drivers must abide by if they are in the yellow which I have not check I'm not surethat simply means that the dot will have them on the radar a little more than average average dot are basically police that monitor trucks
