A lot of that coal goes to plants here in the US. There is a big one up in NH. It scaled way back last year with the gas prices as low as they were. I think you will see the ban on US oil exports lifted here soon and we will be sending that all over as well.

There are 2 pipelines being built in the near future that will supply Marine Distribution Centers on the West coast.

DO NOT say that too loud!! Natural gas prices are tied to just about everybody's mfg. costs. It goes up so does everything else and I mean everything. My former emp. thought he was a smart cookie and only contracted 50% of his daily gas needs and left 50% open to the spot market. We were hurt bad when gas went to $13 MCF..... crippling bad.....
I'm long gone but many industries depend on cheap natural gas to run. Even if a mfg. is not directly hurt by high gas he gets on the price wagon anyway......
There is no shortage either.....not even close....the wells I'm tying in put out round 900 mcf a day into the pipeline....some way more and some a little less. -
Yes they do......in fact our president is blocking the big one that we need badly. Seems the iron horse boys can't get it together either..........which is amazing.......
( a rant ) just yesterday ( 2008 ) over 65% of the nations rail fleet was sitting......car owners were paying up to $5 a day for storage......and now we have plenty of work and plenty of high profile accidents........and can't cover the work. It's like we have a bunch of rookies out there.....
WTF!? -
best to my knowledge, UP still has their's running, to the east coast from the west coast.

Yes i know they do. my response was more in the form of an are you sure type question to Jakebrakeless. I think our president gave the green light this time towards the next step in building it. Dont get me started on the railroads. I worked for one for 17 years, hence the screen name, until I couldnt take it anymore and returned to trucking full time. The class 1s in this country couldnt run a 5 car holiday train around a Christmas tree.mnmover Thanks this.
