LOL...Nothing, really! We just bought a house, though, and we're not putting any money away. We're living paycheck to paycheck, and we have some big repairs that we need to make on this place. Insurance company is having a fit about it. Let's face it: our emergency fund is dwindling, and we'd be in serious trouble right now if something happened to either of us. We're looking at the future and wanting to be in a more secure state. What's funny is that I didn't drive him out....no pun intended. Actually, I will be riding with him in the truck.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it, and will be reading it and doing my homework while my housemate is in orientation. Should be incredibly useful...he's already whining about not getting my homemade bread as often as he has in the past....LOL

Thanks. I know we will, at least, have a small coffeepot. He can't go without his coffee at all, and I will be running water for my tea. I really don't know much else, though. I am told to pack fresh fruits and veggies, since they're harder to get while on the road. Truth?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Yeah..or if their at a TruckStop you will learn what price gouging really is.
Most Wal-Marts allow Truck parking though.

You should go with a company that has Tri-Pac APU's.
A couple are Holland Enterprises and Melton Truck Lines.
Traveling together, cooking in the truck, television, computer; you need plenty of power. With the Tri-Pac APU you won't run the trucks batteries down.NatureGirl22 Thanks this. -
We ended up going with Boyd Brothers. Our adventure has begun! My housemate is in his first day of company orientation today. I am hanging out at the hotel room they gave us, studying up on Qualcomms and electronic stuff. I'm also checking out CB's online, pricing them just in case we don't have one already in the rig.
tsavory, Ukumfe and Drivers girl Thank this. -
Good to hear. Suggest a cobra 29 as a starter radio they hold up better than most other inexpensive radios.

Congrats!! You in Birmingham or Cincinnati? Feel free to pm me anytime you have any questions.

Then again, we didn't get to go with Boyd Brothers. If you want the whole sordid story, check out my post in the bad trucking company forum. It was very disappointing, and we are now struggling to find another company that will take us on....
