It boggles my mind what some drivers think they can get away with or the things they think will be overlooked. (Trashing equipment, unsafe driving, constant late deliveries or p/u)
Companies can also come back at DAC and prove anything a driver disputes to be factual, if they can back it up. -
I agree ,there are some really sorry ars drivers and that just makes it tougher on the good drivers but it doesn't stop there
for the good driver ....there are also some really sorry ars trucking companies to work for also ,we live in an age where lying ,cheating ,stealing are accepted as the norm for our society ......sad but very truedrvrtech77 and Giggles the Original Thank this. -
As someone who used to work in HR, we were only allowed to ask - and answer - two questions.
"Did X work there for the time he specified?"
"Is X eligible for rehire?"
That was it. No elaboration allowed - or needed, honestly. -
Some of you side with the company huh, Everybody that has said something good or bad about Any trucking company has and will some doubt what has been stated here on this site. I'm surprised to see some, if anything said about this whole complaint. So to I have some updates. 1# My truck started out at 249,999 miles and ended at 276,211 + or - 1 percent. 26,211 miles at 2738 miles, not counting days off, 34 hour reset ect. 2# I had my wife call in a couple of times, not all the time, my wife called to see if we had a load set for the weekend. And I will not break my sleep time to call in for anybody. If she didn't call in ( and she got a nasty attitude for doing that) I want to know if we had a load scheduled in advanced. 3# Oh he says I threatened him, did anybody hear that, no the door was closed. He charged me and got so close we were touching noses, I thought he was going to kiss me. 4# The agreement was that I could go home for some home time. My house was repossessed since my departure. Tolleson to Chino Valley is not 700 miles. 5# I use DDL-3.5.1.14-11 Aug 2014 for my logs. 6# I worked for one of so called two companies he is talking about, of witch I worked for him in 2005. He is just as bad as this guy. Well it's like this, I have every mile, load, interstate, scale written down, as some of you also do. I'm sure some of your wives have done a couple of things for you guys to help in anyway they can.7# Anyway there is a 12 to 14 feet gravel pull off area after you get off the I-80 scale and there is room for two trucks to pull into the scale. This was the only trailer that I had the trouble with sliding the tandem. I did get it slid and I was legal, BUT they never scaled the truck when I rolled across the scale and was stopped, the scale officer jumped into the truck and was talking to me. Then without being scale told us to go to the parking area. 8# He did a Level one inspection and I PASSED, by the way. Oh, one last thing, I didn't give a two week notice to quit because has anybody ever got a two week notice to be fired? Have a safe trip.

If so, you're very fortunate and should probably learn that most companies see you as nothing more than a guidance system for a truck. You need to get used to this and learn to make it work for you until you can find a job that suits you better.
If they offended you by not treating you the way you feel comfortable with...and if that's the only thing they did that you find objectionable...I'd be curious as to how long you've been trucking.
Socially acceptable behavior is nice but sometimes it's really hard to find in the trucking business. -
REO6205 Thanks this.
