Avoid it. Avoid it at all costs. The detour is horrible. It took me 8 hours to go from the Petro in North Las Vegas to Cedar City, UT. The backup at 319/93 is ridiculous. Going north it was 11 miles when I got into it. The backup for the southbound traffic was 24 miles of single lane bumper to bumper and growing. There is nowhere to park on the side of the road either. No idea what the guys on e-logs are going to do when they run out of hours. It was so bad people were getting out of their cars and wandering around in the countryside. One guy apparently decided that he had enough, went in the back and closed his bunk curtains and took a nap. There was about a mile gap between him and the traffic in front of him. I'd imagine it's only going to get worse over the next few days. If you don't have a good portion of drive time left, don't even attempt it.

Heavy rain and floods in Nevada. Say what? Floods in the desert? The ground is so dry and the top soil is fried so the water can't drain through the soil

30 miles of 15 are washed out. they'll have a temp road opened up quickly. I posted this in the road conditions section yesterday. it's been all over the news and radio. utah signs are lit up from idaho to cedar city. they're doing traffic control and that's why the backup. apparently traffic can't make the intersection turn on their ownm took me 90 minutes at that intersection heading south. getting a road service in the middle of nowhere though. didn't take him long to get here. so the best time to travel is after midnight. don't do It during the day. you'll burn your eobr clock. another score to not have the stupid things. Cuz it won't be pretty is we all had the dumb thing.

We got rains like that in 2006. The Rio Grande was so full the border patrol access roads were under 3-4 feet of water.
