Luse, they stole from several of the megas including Swift. There were a few threads here and on cdllife.com.

Etrade has them detailed at 5200 owner operator tractors. Figure DSW is probably the largest fleet owner but there are many owners who have multiple tractors. .

Swift Transportation Company is a transportation services company and a truckload carrier in North America. The Company operates in four segments: Truckload, Dedicated, Central Refrigerated and Intermodal. As of December 31, 2013, the Company operated a tractor fleet of approximately 18,000 units comprised of 12,800 tractors driven by company drivers and 5,200 owner-operator tractors, a fleet of 57,300 trailers, and 8,700 intermodal containers from 40 terminals positioned near freight centers and traffic lanes in the United States and Mexico. During the year ended December 31, 2013, its tractors covered 2.1 billion miles for shippers throughout North America. In the Company's trucking operations, it principally operates in short-to-medium-haul traffic lanes around its terminals or dedicated customer locations. In August 2013, the Company announced that it has acquired privately held Central Refrigerated Transportation Inc

Was talking to a MGR at a Pilot the other day, and he told me that Swift was out somewhere in the millions.

Correct. A lease operator is not an owner operator.

With the 4x bonus points and $10 bucks added to my card automatically when I hit 1000 gallons along with company discount I paid almost $3.27 per gallon in Texas the other day. Went in and bought 1/2 gallon of milk for $3.49 I can only imagine the millions in kickbacks Swift and other companies get.
