Okay I know I haven't been on here much lately but the thread is from start to finish. Unfortunately the finish came to soon. I turned in my keys this week. Not because anything south east carriers did. My father has been really sick and we just found out he has cancer very bad. Southeast was very understanding. They told me to take as much time off as I needed and to call them when I'm ready to drive. No rush. But my dad's health is failing rapidly and I need to be here with him. Trucking is not something I have to do but I did because I love it. After all this blows over I will be coming back to southeast and was told to come back whenever I'm ready. If anyone from south east reads this I want to thank them for everything. It truly is like a family there. I enjoyed working with them and I made great money. I will continue to play on the forums and check in time to time. I hope this thread may help someone make a choice on a great driving career. Thanks to everyone for their support and be safe out there.
New career with southeast carriers from start to finish

All the best to you my friend... very sorry for the bad news...
matrixpuba Thanks this. -
I am sorry to hear the bad news about your father.
My father died last year from a stroke. Its tough to
be a OTR driver and be there for your family when
they need you the most. I am on my way back to
the yrd now to turn in my truck so I can go deal with some legal issues arising from his death. I told them about the problem and they told me
the same thing as they told you. This company
is first class all the way. I hope your father has
a full and speedy recovery from his illness.tow614, matrixpuba and Gravion Thank this. -
whats going on drivers. just checking in to say hi and see how eveyone is. whaere yall at?
Gravion Thanks this. -
Well i want to say thanks to you and tow, i will be getting ready to come over to southeast as soon as i get my stuff settled out for a ride to the station and what not. Sorry to hear about your dad that is my worst fear being out here, and air sorry to hear about what happened with your dad as well. Reading this made my choice for me, i have been putting it off because i wasnt sure i wanted to be out here anymore, but its like my friend told me the other day if i didnt like it i would not keep coming back to it. The choice of where i want to go will be something i will not be used to at all, all my companies have been forced dispatch you didnt get a choice someone else made it for you. I have a feeling i am going to truly enjoy SEC when i get there. Hope to come across all of you at some point!tow614 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Does SEC hire drivers from Oklahoma?
-
Yes...hometime may be every 3 to 4 weeks however
-
Does SEC hire new grads? if not, what is the minimum experience they are looking for? I Located outside of Savannah, GA.
-
I think you need at least two years of experience.
They dont hire students and they dont train any
graduates from truck driving schools.
