Where Are You Continues, Again.....

I'm having Drunkn Doughnots coffee. At one of my all time favorite places.....the Ct Tpke.....or I95 as the youngsters refer to it....where a small is like 3bucks.....but ANYSIZE DD refill mug is a Buck! Had to go back out to truck&get my other one.....so now MAYBE I kin make it up to Cranky's old Shtompin ground before daylight.....ona counta....sposed ta b there by 5....course like most places im sure it'll b there when I git there.....

 

Just coasted in to the house. Been 800 miles and Dumped two loads in 24 hrs. Come thanksgiving y'all will apprieciate my efforts I'm sure. Goin TA bed gotta roll early in the am and I think my ol girl has a little alternator trouble but I will see bout er in the am

 

Wishin I could be asleep for another couple hours!

 

Nothin smells as good as go-go girls, I mean they smell like money and breakfast. 2 of the better things in trucking.

 

After the 8 hour side of my split sleeper (do it just to PO the log checkers, it confuses em)....anyway, in Redding. Scooted down to Rocklin swapped out trailers and now going over 80 to get dog food headed to Redlands. The signs say 80, but with the smoke it's hard to tell, doing my 2 hour split at Nyack...very heavy smoke!

Radio report is calling the King fire (Pollock Pines) now at 13,000 acres. US 50 was shut down at Sly Park Road (top end of Pollock Pines) last night fire is now along side, but didn't jump the highway. Evacuations for Mosquito and Sommerset began last night and the list of roads under mandatory evac took 15 minutes on the broadcast.

Weed fire claimed 150 houses, uncounted out buildings, half of the lumber mill (the main employer for the town)...clear as a bell when I came through yesterday about 1400. Don't know where the smoke was coming from when I came through I-5 exit 76, but it was exceptionally heavy, then cleared out by the time I got to Central Point (mm31).

I guess the radio doesn't know how to check out the CalFire web site....current as of 0700
