Did you load those conveyors in Taylor, MI? Loaded there two weeks ago on a saturday… took 8 hours for a real simple load

I drive van for Mercer right now. But I plan to go over to the Flatbed side in October or November. I know things slow down for FB in the Fall/Winter. Can someone give me some feedback on this or should I wait to January or March. I am doing okay in vans but I think I am leaving more on the table in not going FB. Use to drive FB for Lone Star, just did not have the money for equipment when I start at Mercertown!

TX, my 2 cents is, if you can switch now do it. But it also wouldnt be bad if you want to wait. It won't be too long till flat and van are not that much different rate wise. Please take this with a grain of salt because I have never pulled a van at mercer, only seen the rates on the board in january and wondered why I was pulling a flat. You know trying to tarp a load in 0 degree weather and all, but I did ok.

Well I have an update. The head is off and everything looks really good for having 805k on the clock. From all of the horror stories I have read about the ISX I am very surprised. I suppose it could have been overhauled before. I have heard of many ISX's being OH before 500k. They have to wait a day just get a gasket. It might be done by monday. Lucar, from what I have read about you and your troubles with your rig I almost feel guilty in saying how I got lucky with mine. If I would have went through what you did I would'nt be on here today. I have been blessed to have my late fathers advice in my head, and it has served me well and I am going to keep following it, which he would be telling me to keep my current rig for a while. Goodnight all, Rob out.

    Lucar Thanks this.

Bayou, I should thank you for telling me to going ahead with the gasket fix. It was probably the best way to go. Even though I am sick of the small sleeper, selling it at the auction with a blown gasket would have been not the most wise of decisions.

    BAYOU Thanks this.
