Actually, this thread explains a lot. Now I can clearly understand why some of these clowns claim they seen no difference in miles using e-logs. Gotcha pal.

Vicks Vapor rub man. Apply it liberally under your nose. Learned that from reading that awesome Werner trainer crappin himself thread lol. Maybe he's hoarding all those shower credits because he knows he's going to need them all to get himself clean once he does finally shower.
DoublePump and OPUS 7 Thank this. -
I ran paer logs before I came to werner which has elogs (qualcomm).. and there is a difference.. while there are a few things drivers can do to gain a few extra moments here and there it isnt like with paper logs... also, what an| drivers dont realize is that companies that use elogs have a logs department who does internal log audits... and they can clearly see your tricks and it can come back to bite you.... I know of one driver wbo got pulled into the termianal and had to sit 3 days with no pay, then spend a day doing CBTs (computer based training) on HOS and Logging, then take a test on both.. he ended up being at the terminal for 5 days with no pay...
Now, he had been warned and told not to do his creative logging and qualcomm shenanigans. . He did t stop so they pulled him in..
So, I am sure in the long run he lost more time and money then his tricks got him...
Personally myself.. I just accept what is... i drive a governed truck.. so I accept that I will roll in the right lane and be passed.. I accept that although I may be governed a bit higher then the truck in front of me, I am not governed fast enough to pass them without holding up the left lane while I meander pass them.. so, I just back off the accelerator and accept it.. occasionally a long break in traffic happens and I can pass...
To me, i think it is silly and stresfull to try to elog like others paper log, or to run up agaistthe governer and hold up traffic in the left just for the thrill of passing a truck going going 1/2mph slower... and the truth is, when you drive a governed truck and are elogs all that stupid stuff doesnt earn you anymore money on your pay check... not wasting time at truck stops, shippers and recievers and not taking 12 hours to complete your 10 hour reset is wear you make the extra money...
Now, i will be honest... i do do my pre trip off duty, then I log on duty pre trip and finish it up then roll... i do that, so if I need to change a lightbulb or something I caun take care of it before I start my 14 hour earning clock... I actually do a good post trip, so if I need something taken care of I can get it done either by myself or during my 10 hour reset...
And I do that even when I have trainees...DoublePump, loose_leafs, Sly48 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Doesn't matter what the regulations are. A company
can make them more stringent. At Bison we can only be on bobtail. We must use for personal use only. We can't use to bobtail from a customer to our terminal for example. -
Here's how you do it with your question. Call up your safety dept and say, "Hello, I am a trainee and I was wondering if you could clear something out." and explain your questions. I am sure the safety dept will have some questions for you.
drvrtech77 and DoublePump Thank this. -
I'm so glad elogs have made our roads SO much safer.

get your own card next fuel stop.

Like I said, I get it. So you use you post trip and log off duty or berth time to do small repairs(again illegal). As I've said in a lot of posts. I can see how e-logs can sort of work in an over the road driving situation or even longer regional runs. However, long wait time and multiple loading and dropping per day... There is the problem.BrenYoda883 Thanks this.

Most trainers help a newbie out with getting points when fueling.
It sounds like the OP trainer wouldn't give points, even if he did get a card
from Loves,or Flyn j.
My first trainer did help me get established with some shower credits.
Yoder does it the right way.A good trainer will keep it professional, and
to the point.
