this! after about 2 months of doing that, I've gotten good enough and familiar with how Budweiser loads their trailers to where I can hook up, pull my tandem pin, slide my tandems all the way forward and then slide back about 6-7 holes and then set my pin. I go scale and its perfect.

last weekend I went to scale and it was

    11340
    32800
    33200

doesnt get much better than that when you are doing it by feel. :)

I have to say, I went to a very good school. 8 weeks and 384 hrs. We spent 20 minutes on sliding tandems. I didnt understand really....
but my trainer on the job went over this extensively. Made me weigh, adjust and reweigh every load. Now its easy. My 2nd load solo I had to reweigh 4 times. Just couldnt get it right.....
Gets easier every load. I picked up a load thursday that was a drop and hook. Bills said it was 18,000 lbs. I weighted anyways.... I'm more use to the 44000- 45000 lb loads....

Some trainers at some carriers on some fleets in some regions rarely move anything heavier then 20k (probably more then you might think) and it's hard to teach weight dynamics with so little weight in the box.

Okay, hold on just one minute! Before you go judging anyone, you need to understand that we have been off the road for an extended period of time. It has been a while since we've done OTR. You tend to get rusty on certain things. Yes, we needed assistance with this problem, but don't go telling me that you wouldn't forget a few things if you go off the road and then return after several years. I asked for help from other professionals, not snarky comments. Remember, we are all human and all need someone else's help sometime in our lives.

    ncmickey and X-Country Thank this.

You need to not be so focused on "formulas" and understand the basic physics involved. Any "[per-hole] formulas" are by no means set in stone as you will find out (hopefully it's not a costly lesson). Hole change values are only a "rule-of-thumb" application at best. The amounts shifted per hole vary mostly by weight arrangement in the trailer, but also in rare cases, the hole spacing is different. Just be aware is all I'm saying.

I can not believe this simple question went on and on for four pages. IT ain't rocket science guys and girls.
the correct answer has been given by almost every post, just different ways of stating it. By now I would hope that load has already been deliveed.
