The point I'm making is that the regs under certain circumstances are a little silly. For example, I'm extremely sure ALL of the reg follows would pull over and stop at the next rest stop while 20 minutes from home running up on their weekly 70.
I'm also not saying run all night long and all day like an idiot either. There has to be a point that you know what you can do and cannot. It's safe to say, that 14 on and 10 off for 5 days may be WAY to much for some, while others may be able to do a little more.
With this said, I'm sure the roads will be red with blood as I'm now exempt of HOS regs for harvest season.... NOT!![]()
Is going off duty on elogs while driving under 25mph a violation?

The 30 minute break is about as dumb as it gets

But Elogs will save the world.....
loose_leafs Thanks this. -
I find it amusing when rookies want to complain about what isn't safe. I did the same thing when I was a rookie, and I wish I could go back then to slap the bejesus out of myself. Honestly I wish there was a regulation that forbids rookies from role playing as DOT.

if he is checked by dot he will be in violation they can tell how far the truck moved regardless if he was under 25 miles per hour 30 min break means just that a break
-
Nope, a 14 hour day to begin with combined with not being able to extend your day with sleeper berth time (outside of the current, unflexible, near useless 8/2) is the almost the absolute dumbest it can get. Combine it with the national 65 MPH speed limit and elogs for all commercial vehicles that the feds are trying to make happen. Now that will be dumbest of the dumb...

Wow. That's all I can say.
