keep in mind you live near Houston, a good many of the loads out of that area are pipe, a flatbed may serve you better , just something to think about. had a flat for 4 years now with mercer, do right well with it, and last 2 years my best month of the year has been January, go figure -
January, a lot of the roofing companies kick into high gear
-
Transformers, wire, and oil pipeline move year round
-
I loaded at a pipe yard yesterday big sign on the gate NO STEPDECK OR DROP TRAILERS if your out of Houston id go flat
-
At mercer on the fb or sd side do they have hazmat loads and can I run my plate or do I have run with theirs? Great thread
-
I run with my plates but will run with theirs next year
-
That's good to know thanx

You can run your own tractor plate until expiration, then you are required to use Mercer's plate. If you have your own trailer I'm pretty sure you can run your own plate. If you are leasing one from them you must use theirs. I found it was just easier to let them tag my trailers, one less thing to have to worry about.
Peteymac Thanks this. -
