It's it really? Geezus. I was at grand rapid, mi around noon and had a 0300 apt at plainfield the next day. It's a 5-6 hour drive and I have 7 hr left. We been up since 0500.
If we did our ten at noon, well thats 2200 plus a 5/6 hr drive and thats risky so I drove as close as I can. Stop at 1700. About 4 miles away from the customer.
Don't think it was my "bad trip planning" but why are dispatcher giving me load cutting so close. It takes a hour to pretrip with a student!
Well now I know.... ima ask somebody above and come back to you

against policy yes, but not illegal. If there was REALLY an issue with doing it the could have logs custom set to prevent that possibility.
-
It's against policy but if you only do it sporatically they won't bother you.

Speaking of locations for the night, I had a first time occurrence that I've never seen before. Stopped at the Pilot I-5 exit 278 in Lost Hills, CA around noonish. Ran inside to grab a bite to eat and take a shower, get back out to the truck in 30 minutes and get the following message on the qualcomm:
"Distinct location notification. This is a high value load no-stop location due to risk of load theft. Other loads are at risk. A driver must stay with load at all times. If a break is required, contact your leader ASAP. Thanks for protecting your load... Alternative locations to use : move to truckstop exit 319 or rest area mm 320 to the north, or move to rest area mm 259 or TA t/s at exit 257"
Think I'll park in micromanagement city next stop91B20H8 and harlycharly55 Thank this. -
You know it's a bad area when the rest areas are more secured than the truck stop you were at. I did know that supposedly the new version of Navigo that came out a couple of months ago is supposed to yell at you when you enter a high-theft area, but I've never seen it on my screen.

This is my Qualcomm, his name is Bob. Bob does not say much he just sits there waiting for his daily hang out the window time, Bob likes to beep, sometimes after a 10 hour day Bobs beeping gets him a time out. He seems to like rainy and snowy days. I know this because he tends to beeps less once he is a little wet and even some times goes to sleep. Its a love and hate relationship with Bob but we tend to get along ok. Now if Bob started to try to tell me where to go we might have to change our relationship and Bob might have a unfortunate accident with a drive tire.

mickimause and harlycharly55 Thank this. -
Wally World Cincinnati off I-75 S, exit 14, didn't want to stay at the QualaWash, needed to do a little shopping. Gonna try and do my 34 here if they don't try kicking me out! I am a paying customer with a receipt!
