Curious as to why FFE does not provide recommended fuel stops for its lease operators?

I don't know, but maybe they treat their drivers like mature adults, able to make their own decisions? Or the company doesn't have any deal worked with the national truck stops that requires purchasing a certain amount per month? I worked for one of each of those. I liked making my own fueling decisions.

Why would you want someone telling you which way to go and where to fuel? Those are all basic decisions the DRIVER should be perfectly capable of making

Why not go back to KLLM if you liked the way they do business?

Do you get a fuel card with FFE? If you do, you end up fueling where you can use the card, unless you want to pay with cash or check(or plastic).

You are probably paying for the fuel, so I'd get the best deal I could on it, and if other things are considered, it may be to your advantage to fuel in low tax states, something to check into, anyway.

Fuel is your number one expense ... how you manage it can mean thousands, yes thousands of dollars to you. Why would want to put that in someone else's hands.

Lease operators are independent contractors. If the company dictates where to get the fuel, the lease operator is a company driver.

I believe what the OP was asking is do they suggest for their lease drivers to buy fuel at one truckstop chain versus another, because of getting a great discount at one chain versus the other... Example; I drive for Landstar and they suggest for us to fuel at Petro / TA because we receive our greatest discount from them. Does that make me a company driver because they suggest for me to fuel there? Think long and hard about that.....
