I had my license suspended by Sacramento County California for not paying a fine for having my car registration expired. Was suspended for nearly a year before I even found out about it. Never lied about it and never had anyone say anything about it when I was looking for a driving job. Worst thing you can do when appying for a job is to lie about something or try to cover it up. Things have a way of coming out at the worst possible time and biting you right in the a??.

So how do they tie child support payments, a civil court order, to your drivers license, a DMV issue? I've never paid a child support or alimony payment in my life but I don't see how they're connected.
What else can they suspend you for that's not DMV related? -
Child support and alimony is court ordered. It is a crime not to pay. Therefore, they can suspend your license in some states.

Some states have it as a law that your driver license will be suspended just for the reason that Mrh2008 stated. It is a court order and you did not follow the court order. There for you are in contempt of court and one penalty is a suspension of your driving privileges.Mrh2008 Thanks this.

Hahaha so true. Exactly how I remember it.

I had a bit of a hard time getting hired w/a suspension on my record. It will limit your choices of company's. But it's not a complete deal breaker if your honest in the hiring process. Once you're hired on, stay on top of your business and don't play with it.
Allthebest.
