I've got a couple questions about getting my TWIC.
- Are there any forms that I can fill out at home and take with me to the TSA office to expedite the paperwork process? Looking on their website, I'm not seeing any forms.
-I've already got my 'X' endorsement and paid for the background check. Do I need to pay for another one to get my TWIC? On the DMV form, it looks like if you already did the BG check for the TWIC, you don't have to pay for the same BG check to get your Hazmat endorsement. Thank you.

No, you can not fill out any forms at home. Yes youll need to pay for another background check. I asked and they would not honor my hazmat finger prints even though I had just renewed it.

I don't know how your state runs it, but here in GA the processing center makes us pay 2 separate fees (which each fee includes the background checks and finger print scans). I know that I had to file 2 separate appointments even though they did both at the same time. There is an online enrollment that you can fill everything out online and the only thing you have to do is answer verbal questions when you get there. When you fill it out it schedules your appointment and everything.
My X endorsement was 86.50 and my TWIC was 128 (or around there). They told me each had to be paid and ran separately.
EDIT: before anyone starts criticising me, I was told that each state processing center runs things differently. for instance, Georgia no longer runs paper finger prints, they scan them in with the computer. That is what the lady at Savannah ports told me and what I was told calling the universal enrollment phone number. -
ENROLLMENT SITE
here is the universal enrollment site where you can schedule all of your appointments and fill out all of the paperwork prior to getting there. Print out your confirmation page and bring it with you.bubbagumpshrimp Thanks this. -
Edit: I completed the pre-enrollment. They allowed me to select 'Walk-In'...so I'll give that a shot tomorrow. $129.75. ****...I hope I end up using it, lol.Last edited: Nov 17, 2014

Yup and now that you pre filled out that paperwork the only thing you have to do is go in, show your "proof" of identity and answer a few verbal questions and your good after the finger print scan. Easier that way than go, wait, hand write the paperwork and all. Good luck to you, hope you use it too.

I know on the site it says that if you have a TWIC you can get a discounted rate on your hazmat but not the other way around

I I think that it is stupid that it only works one way.
