Talked with a YRC recruiter the other day about Teams. They do hire Teams, 45 cpm. If they don't have a team load then the drivers can go out solo. That's all I know. If anyone else has more info then feel free.

This thread will evaporate - none must speak of the mysteries of the yellow . . . .
That's kinda low - but that's starting rate. Do you sign up with the union right from the start, or is there a waiting period?
Dang it - I've got questions now.TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Running solo for YRC doing "linehaul" (city to city - no P&D work, no loading or unloading either) I was making from day one $0.51 or $0.53 per mile, and (almost) all detention paid by the hour. Health insurance for me and my spouse cost me $0, and it was a $0 deductible no HSA bullcrap plan - the likes of which I haven't seen in over 30 years. If a trip was short, say five hours, I would get paid for 8 hours in hourly pay increments. I think the hourly was around $23?
I made $65K gross the first year, and YRC paid Anthem an additional $14,676 for my health plan.
If a YRC terminal is hiring, and the caller proves to be a viable candidate, then the recruiter will be happy to explain the pay and benefits, either over the phone, or more likely - in person. Where I worked they were so desperate for help they were doing ad hoc in-house driver training with drivers of 0 commercial vehicle miles background.
I would think YRC should be able to survive another year or two before they get looted and closed, but with 1.5 billion in debt and absolutely no plan to remedy the extremely low morale there from the bottom up - their future does not look very bright to me. Case in point - there is absolutely no incentive plans or rewards. The guy who does 110% on time at 7.5 MPG gets the same pay and treatment as the guy who is late every load at 4.1 MPG - so - what incentive is there to perform well? None. The list like that is miles long, but the pay is good as compared to many non union jobs.Last edited: Dec 4, 2014

The only "incentive" I need is a paycheck..people have been saying YRC is going down for years...I dont think so....I see us getting everything back on the new contract..
