Have you ever eaten in a fine restaurant? How can they even exist? Why pay more for a steak dinner at one place rather than choose the lower priced place, a steak is a steak, right?

Why do people buy cars like BMW, mercedes, Cadillac, other luxury brands? A honda civic will also get a person from here to there and will cost much less, use less fuel and last just as long.

Do you have any intelligent answers to these simple questions or should i not even bother trying to make you understand?

    o so true

if the load is going to pay $1000, and you want to get from Chicago to Atlanta, why not pick up the load from indy is correct

its the same $1000, plus you have empty (good fuel mileage) on top

let mr chicago find some other sucker

jb and schneider are paying their drivers peanuts, and they can spread their wealth (losses and profits) around

i think it has been said by Mr JB himself, if he can profit $1/day from each truck he is happy (he has 15,000 trucks)

you and i cannot work like that

also, i love telling a broker "call me when he wants to pay $1000" i am not hauling it for $750

most times, i get that call back (sometimes i dont, o well)

dont forget, if you pull a $3/mi load, you can actually deadhead at 50cpm (or less) to wherever you want to go, netting $2.50 instead

(we used to do potato loads, at $4, and deadhead back to the farm, netting $3.50/mi)

many times, i get a good load out, and if there isnt anything coming back, i deadhead home, and very happy too

i've never understood why go to those kinds of resturants, its something i don't understand

I might sound like a hypocrite but I never understood why buy Mecedes or BMW there is nothing wrong with a Ford 500, or a Chevy Impala. the reason I give partial forgiveness is because i'm a Ford guy (even though the only Ford product i've owned is a hat) but I don't understand why buy expensive luxury cars,

you can actually deadhead at 50cpm :biggrin_25512: Not when paying a driver $0.48 / mile + FUEL costs are more than that alone
