HOS in an Emergency

Look they can't eat you or take away your birthday. One log book violation isn't the end of the world. I violated a lot more than HOS, due to an emergency, still trucking imagine that

 

Ask your company for a drop yard and bobtail home on line 5, off duty, driving.

 

Driving out of hours or during a family emergency on a commercial truck is the same dangerous.

I wouldn't like to drive next to another truck driver with his or her emotions at limit and not thinking with his head. Think out of the box. Have a relative pick you up or call a taxi cab before you run out of hours and meet it at a truck stop or yard. Log out, call dispatch and let them know.

At the end, it could be faster and cheaper parking the truck, than getting a HOS violation, hurting your record/score, and/ or trying to park it close to a hospital.

 

Seriously. Funny right there

 

They will slow a truck down to five mph just because you forgot to fill the def tank.

Do not see much difference for not filling your hos.

 

Can't believe you actually believe that... trust me our trucks don't derate just because we ran out of hours....happen a few times when I have to.... nvm just trust me... a friend told me

Yeah, 14 hrs is ok but 15 hrs and your looking at a time bomb, lol.

First of all......ah........oh, nevermind.....

this is no way true, as how would they know you are not climbing or going down a grade, and have to use the emergency rule because of an accident that blocked the road ahead of you. (this would put you and the motoring public in harms way).

by your statement if it was icy, and you were just plugging up the hill of cabbage lets say, and all of a sudden your engine cuts your speed down to where you cannot maintain traction, guess what happens....you end up sliding down backwards and can just kiss your butt goodbye.

they can call the cops on you and have you pulled over, they can do allot of things, but they cannot cut your speed while in route or shut your truck off while in route that would be a accident and a huge lawsuit to boot.
