HOS News

Obama has until December 17 to sign it. It's still on his desk. Congress and the house have passed it so far. After it's signed they will have 90 days to start relaxed enforcement. It is until end of the fiscal year because ONLY the financial part of enforcement was removed this year, NOT the law itself!

 

they make a mockery of the HOS

either they HOS are correct or they are a joke (political football)

if they are correct, why always the changes?
if they are a joke, why are we being penalized for their stupidity?

 

ok wait....i am confused....dont they say we are unsafe as it is ?? why are they INCREASING hours we can work? we all know that a big percentage of truckers are some of the hardest working people there are..i am NOT in favor of the increase....course i dont have to worry about it anymore...but still

 

The media says we are unsafe, because that's what people want to hear, makes for good ratings. The politicians say we are unsafe because that's what voters want to hear, so they are pandering for votes. I don't see a way to change it. The media, a long time ago, tried their best to bring us honest reporting, now it's all about ratings. The politicians along time ago created and voted on bills because it was the right thing to do, now it's all about getting re-elected. Sorry situation we are in, for sure.

 

Well a big misconception is people keep saying that we are going to "pre 2013 34 hour reset rules" so they are assuming it means HOS and all that and it does not. The only thing changing are the 2 34 hour reset laws because they lost funding, that's it.

Yep he signed it tuesday. not a lot of fanfare on that one at all, lol. (Further bailouts for big banks! Yay! Woohoo!)
