Crude oil is $86 today.... beginning of the end?

Yea I'm in the Eagle...west of shiner to Gilett usually,sometimes over to Falls city.

 

I am starting a new job on the 26th hauling sand in South Texas. They claim to have plenty of work 6 months out but I wonder now when these fracing contracts will start getting cancelled. The demand for sand seems high but if I were an oil company i would delay frac completion until i saw a more stable price. Are their hands tied or can they get out of these contracts come January?

 

If they hold drilling they won't be fracing. I know that rig count is down but I do t think things will change much till Jan Feb.

 

The rig count is up 111 from a year ago.

 

I guess it's a good sign companies are still hiring.

 

The Saudis don't like our fracking, and neither does a certain President.

 

they are stacking rigs here too. lots of guys are pulling out of here. we have lots of rv parks here...some look like ghost towns...usually all of the are FULL....

 

True story-I am staying in an RV park with around 300 spaces because it was all I could find at the time. Now it looks like at least 30% vacancy for the parks along 18.

 

Wow, do you guys not realize its the holidays? ! Everything slows down this time of year. Don't buy into the hype! Lol

 

We are fracking like hell out here hiring 30 more people for another fleet by the end of January no talk of slowdowns yet from our company man or consultants. If it happens hell it happens I'll go back to the Crane and Rigging jobs I had before this yeah I'll miss the money but I'll be able to say yeah I made it the oilfield with my West Texas Bachelors degree.
