I'm sorry. Did I release a little flatulence and stink up the room. Is your engine a 2007 epa year or 2008? Exhaust back pressure will directly relate to internal crankcase pressure. That's all I'm saying.
High crank case pressure

Op say's there's no excessive visible blowby. Now what does the book say?

the code was active when at the dealership. and the service engine light was on.but they cant find out why

08 kenworth c-15 cat 650,000 miles

08 cat c15 and here are the codes:
310-1
310-2
310-3
101-16
The 310-1, 310-2, 310-3 are codes that indicate successful regeneration. They do not mean there is a problem. They just log after every regen complete. They each count up to 127 occurences.
Code 101-16 is indicating the engine has excessive crankcase pressure. The most common cause of this is a restricted crankcase filter. I would change it first. If you continue to have this code, the engine has wear in the cylinders or a faulty high pressure turbo causing high crankcase pressure. The turbo can do this by putting exhaust gas down the oil drain line.
When the code is active, the engine will be derated.
The filter cartridge right above the air compressor, The engine vent tube is connected to it. Unfortunately it can not be cleaned. It must be replaced.
From Justanswer.com was looking up trying to see if someelse had same problems, all I have found as of now hope it helps, click the 'Exhaust gas' part and should take you to the Q & A and be able to ask a Certified Cat Mechanic.BeenJammin, Cat sdp and RBT Thank this. -
Then that sounds like a false positive in the circuitry. Welcome to world of finding ghosts. Usually the more complicated a ghost problem is, it's something simple when you find it. The problem is, finding it. I digress. I hope you find it without too much expense.

I had that happen with my PACcar motor in my 680. Would drop trailer and all codes will clear. Hook back up check engine light back on. Had truck in two different dealers and company shop a total if 12 days and same problem. Put me in another truck finally.

the excess crank case pressure is the code that comes on and it does derate. i changed the filter, twice. whats the easiest way to check the turbo?

Credit where credit is due. "Judge" may have nailed your problem, being your seeing your problem under load at higher boost pressures. High pressure turbo check. Remove oil return line and fashion tubing to insert into a 5 gallon bucket of water. Accelerate engine, watch for bubbles.

do 08's have tubes to see blowby anymore??? cuz part of the 2007 epa emission requirements was to eliminate blowby. by way of recirculation.
one local company i worked for bought 07 pete with c15 motor and it didn't have a tube. and i haven't seen one on the 09's and 13 FL i'm driving.
