Thanks for the great thread. 8 have spoken to a RR recruiter that told me I should be able to make over 2K a week and still be able to get home weekly and he has people doing better than that.

It sounds too good to be true. Last year I made 68k and would like to maintain that or do better. It sounds like that may be doable and still get home, but you'd know better than me. I was also told that there are two options for leasing. A lease purchase and a walk away lease. Might you have any specifics or suggestions. Thanks again.

Most of us are on paper logs but we do have the option to use a smartphone or phablet to be using the BigRoad logging app. I may get on BigRoad myself due to the big incentives they are offering for clean roadside inspections.

I don't know how their truck lease works, but I am going to look into pretty soon as a possible way to get a second truck.

We are getting a raise in March on the T2T lanes too. RR bought 500 brand new trailers in 2014 and seem to have perfected the science of keeping them pre-loaded for easy drop and hooks. I have the Xtralease trailer they deduct weekly rent and monthly insurance on, looking into maybe joining the trailer pool as well. I could write off the trailer pool rent but opens up access to immediate drop and hooks as opposed to waiting for live reloads. I get the feeling now (can't prove it) they seem to prioritize loading the pool trailers unless the owner op calls in soon enough to book a load before they have a chance to preload a pool trailer.

So long story short, yes should be able to do close to a couple hundred grand gross minus fuel and maintenance should put you right in the ballpark revenue you're looking for.

Don't forget we can still book freight going anywhere just cannot do it ourselves off a loadboard anymore. You'd have to call a RR agent to look on the loadboards for you. The agent takes their cut off the top of the rate then RR corporate will take their cut again. Should be pretty easy for you to get home and back out again using the agents.

Yes. RR treats their owner ops as true independent contractors. They charge us for drug tests, physicals, even the company name decals on the truck. As far as the trailer rent goes, that payment covers the maintenance/tires/plates/insurance too though. Pretty good benefit there.

Frm what i was told, their no longer using arrow or any other outside leasing company. The trucks that are on the "fenceline" are available with no money down. If u decide to use an outside vendor you will have to come up with down payment

Seeing how they don't own a single truck that would be impossible. But they are not using arrow any more. Lakeside international or bush truck leasing are the options.
