You're absolutely right...people should know what they're talking about before they post. With that said, the aforementioned College of Bariatric Surgeons (you know.......the guys who DO the procedures) say that vitamins ARE in fact a fact of life post surgery. Or should be anyway.

So you two are saying that people should not learn from other's experiences? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but if that is your opinion, I won't try to argue you out of it. But I won't pay much attention to it, either.

Now just a minute, I never implied they are pigs, that's a terrible thing to say. I'm saying education on what people eat is the key. I make a habit of looking in overweight ( fat is such an ugly word) peoples shopping carts, and I SMH as to what they are buying. People don't realize what they eat is directly proportional to their weight gain, along with a sedentary lifestyle. At the grocery store, I see all the skinny people are in the produce area, and all the overweight people are in the meat and dairy sections, with a suitcase of soda on the bottom of the cart. I lived with an overweight person for 12 years, and saw how they and their family ate, and that's how I came to that conclusion. My mom was a nurse, and she was very conscious of what she fed us. I understand, not all metabolism's are the same, and someone can eat a cookie and gain 10 lbs, all the more reason to watch what they eat.

I don't think they know the difference.

My wife had it two years ago, before that she had the first generation lap band but she could not have the GB because of other issues.

She got rid of the lap band because of the lack of progress and the serious issues she had with it (ended up in the ER a few times because of issues).

She has struggled with it because of the lap band (had to reprogram herself mentally), lost a lot of weight (over 120 lbs) but the most important thing is to listen to what you have to eat from the beginning. YOU will struggle to find a happy medium between weight loss and this profession unless you are home daily. Get together with a support group, and try different foods that are "safe" but effective.

In her case she wasn't getting enough protein, the protein supplements were making her sick so she found special K cereal with protein helped balance it out.

    Three weeks?

Seriously plan on four. The thing is if you do a lot of physical stuff (like I do), you will feel it when you go back to work.

Good luck and remember support is very important to your success.
