I'm starting in Rock Port on I-29 and heading to Brownsville TN. Usually I just take 29,70,55, 155 but I've got some extra time and don't really care for I-70 through MO. So.... Is 13 from KC to Springfield and then 60 to Poplar Bluff an OK way to take a truck? I've never been through the Ozarks before.

If your closer to US 71 I would use that. 13 is OK if your closer to that. US 60 is OK. However I don't think its going to be much faster. If ya got plenty of time sure why not. If you got one of those little truck stop books might want to take a look at available stopping places along they way.
Freightlinerbob Thanks this. -
Thanks. I'm not looking to save time, just a change of scenery.

We use US71 to MO13 from KC down to Springfield all the time, and US60 east to get over to the river. Lots of small truck stops along the way. Those roads are 4-lane, divided highway for the entire route. The only significant traffic will be in the KC area.
Hammer166, TNMT, Freightlinerbob and 2 others Thank this. -
So 29 to 435 to 71 to 13?

Yep... ran it Thursday morning. Gets a little tricky coming through KC. Just watch the signs.Freightlinerbob Thanks this.

Good running that way now that 60 is all 4 lane.
Freightlinerbob, blairandgretchen and Hammer166 Thank this. -
I second Iron pony there - and 60 is nice now after the improvements.

MO13 from Harrisonville to Springfield is a very good road.
4 Lane divided Hwy, 65 or 70mph
A few lights in Clinton and closer to Springfield. -
I run 60 all the time and agree with the rest of the drivers here nothing wrong with US 60, except the day crew at the east bound cabool scale. I never had a lick of trouble out of them some of my running buddies have some horror stories
